Conservation
with the three R's
is simple yet profound
for smart yet stupid
people such as I
There's also advocacy,
volunteering,
charity,
but I would add Hope
in there as well
to keep the Faith
of Life

for resource scarcity
is looming
like a sleeping giant
on horizon
cast in shadows
quietly snoring
and dreaming of days
filled with songs of old

Turning towards advocacy,
we can sing new songs of hope
to lull waking Giants back sleeping
and maybe even get paid for it
as our children swim in the dawn
of the new light

reflecting
off gathering clouds
of climate change
and promise of new rains
that bring changes
for mankind
which means the creation
of winners and losers
as paradigms shift
from oil to solar and hydrogen;
Hyperbaric chamber anyone?

Positive change
hopes for us, so inevitable
on horizons with sleeping Giants,
for promise of new rains
gathers near and dear
that brings fuss
to our summer days
