Populations grow
predators swell
disease and famine spread
This is the way of things
in natural systems

resources of Earth
are natural systems
I would suggest
we aren't so different
from what surrounds us
for we aren't aliens
in that sense.

Tame our consumption
I would pray.
But there's things like soil
that are hardly replenishable
and so I would hardly hope
for such when time is the creator
No, when time is the creator
I pray for rain
to start the cycle again.

Scarcity
is the subtraction
of the dream
from the future
with dreams raining
to fill the reservoir,
We must but drink.

Learning as we go
as students without teachers
in the natural world
we aren't so different
when time is the creator
filling the reservoirs.
